Setup guide video
This video shows you how to set up the SMS Europe app step by step.
For more detailed instructions, follow the guide below.

Install the Elevate SMS Europe app
Log in to your Shopify admin.
Go to the Shopify App Store and click Install.

Give the app access to your store
After installing the app, you must give it access to your store. This is a standard step for all Shopify apps.
We only request access to the data needed for the app to work.

Select your plan
You can choose any plan.
The Free plan gives you access to all features at the standard SMS rate.
Paid plans include discounted SMS prices.
If you send a higher volume of messages, a paid plan may be more cost-effective.
You can change your plan at any time.
Upgrades and downgrades are easy.
Scroll down on the plan page to see a detailed SMS price list.

Approve subscription
After selecting your plan, you must approve the subscription. This is a standard step for Shopify apps.
You may notice that the App spending limit is set to $10,000. This can look high, but there is no reason to worry.
You are only charged for:
Before sending any campaign, you will always see the exact cost. This means you stay in full control of your spending.

Adjust settings
You are now ready to adjust the app settings.
We have added default settings that work well for most stores.
You need to complete the following steps:
Once you have updated the settings and accepted the terms, click Finish setup. The app is now ready to use.
See the sections below for more details on choosing your sender phone number and sender name.

Phone number and name (Sender ID)
To send SMS campaigns, you need a verified mobile phone number and a sender name.
Validate your phone number
Enter your mobile number and click Validate.
You will receive an SMS with a confirmation message.
Click OK to complete the validation.
Once approved, your phone number will be marked as Valid.
Add a sender name
After validating your phone number, add a sender name.
This is the name shown as the sender in your SMS messages.
The sender name can be up to 11 characters.
This limit is set by European mobile operators.
All sender names are manually reviewed to prevent abuse and SMS spam. Approval can take up to one business day, but it is usually completed within minutes. You will receive an email once your sender name is approved.
When setup is complete, both your phone number and sender name will be marked as Valid, as shown in the final image on the left.

Validate your domain(s)
To ensure your SMS campaign links work correctly and are delivered reliably, we need to validate your domains with European mobile operators.
Don’t worry — we handle this process for you.
All you need to do is add the domains you will link to in your SMS campaigns. This is usually your main shop domain, but it can also include subdomains, such as a blog: https://blog.YourShop.com

Enable SMS marketing consent
After saving your settings in the previous step, the app will check if your store is set up to collect phone numbers and SMS marketing consent at checkout.
If consent is not enabled, a pop-up will appear.
Click Open Shopify settings to adjust your store’s settings and enable SMS marketing consent.

Create a new SMS campaign
You are now ready to create your first SMS campaign.
Click Create Campaign in the app navigation on the left.
At the top of the Create Campaign page, give your campaign a name. This is for internal use only — your contacts will not see it.
Next, choose whether to send the campaign from your validated phone number or sender name.
To keep links short and reduce SMS costs, the app uses a URL shortener.
You can use the default shortener (a-l.ink) or your own domain.

Compose your new SMS campaign
Now you are ready to write your SMS campaign.
Enter your message text and include the link(s) you want to share.
Use the full URLs from your site, including https://.
The app will automatically encode and shorten them using your selected URL shortener.
Before sending or scheduling your campaign, it’s a good idea to test it. Click Send test SMS to send the message to yourself.
You should receive it within seconds.
Check the message carefully and make sure all links work correctly.

Enable tracking
Most of the tracking fields are already filled in for you.
You just need to:
Only Campaign Source and Campaign Medium are required. All other fields are optional.

Filter your audience by country
An audience is a set of filters that determines who will receive your SMS.
First, decide whether to send your SMS to all contacts or only to contacts in specific countries.
If you plan to reuse these settings, you can save the audience as a reusable audience for future campaigns.

Apply custom filters (optionally)
You can further refine who receives your SMS by applying custom filters.
We provide several easy-to-use options:

Test your campaign (partly send out)
You can send your SMS campaign to a random subset of contacts to test it — or to test different variations — before sending to your entire audience.
On the Create Campaign page, select the percentage of your audience you want to send to, for example, 10%.
On the All Campaigns page, you can see campaigns that were partly sent. Once you know which variation performed best, you can choose to send the campaign to the rest of your audience.

Send your SMS campaign
You are now ready to send your campaign.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a summary including the total cost of sending the campaign. Check this carefully before proceeding.
You can choose to send the campaign immediately or schedule it for a later time.

Track and monitor results and ROAS
After sending your campaign(s), you can monitor the results.
Go to the All Campaigns page, click Actions in the far-left column, and select View Report.
The report shows:
This report helps you measure campaign performance and optimize future campaigns.
